Challenge Recap: Podtacular

The Gunslingers took up arms once again, this time to meet the challenge of the crew from Podtacular.

Challenge captain TTL Zeuz Patter has the write up!

Written by Zeuz Patter:

A quiet Saturday night turned into a constant thunder of BR fire when the guys from Podtacular matched up against the Tied The Leader Gunslingers.
Podtacular brought this brave men into battle: Pardon Our Dust, x BloBBy x, MaesterGXL, Tarheels32, Queso Man.
Tied The Leader showed representation by: TTL zeuz patter, TTL Gilthanis, TTL Fate and OboeCrazy.

Game1: Odball to 250. Podtacular wins 250-196 TTL.

Podtacular practically had ball and map control for the duration of the game. Ball was held primarily on blue room with some random carrier escapes through hammer spawn and both bottom and top Gold Room. The Gunslingers did the best they could to regain control and allthough they managed to get the ball several times it was not enough to beat their opponents.

Game 2: 1 Flag on Narrows. Tied Game, 2 captures each.
This gametype usually ends with a tie, and this time was no exception. With all four rounds being a straight up fierce battle and mayhem, both teams managed to steal the flag and capture it. It was not easy for anyone.

Game 3: Multi-Flag on The Pit. TTL wins 3 to 1 Podtacular.
Incredibly intense game. First of all both teams fought for powrweapons and powerups during the entire game. The usual choke points were precisely that, terrains of death and mayhem. With both teams working hard to gain a step a time map control and a time gap that would enable to steal the flag. TTL used stealth and speed to to it three times for the win. A quick rush on start gave us the lead and we managed to keep it during the game. Podtacular came close but close is not good enough.

Game 4: Slayer on Construct. Podtacular wins 50-33 TTL.
Initial setup as an MLG gametype. TTL asked for this to be defaulted maps and BR starts due to not receiving the Forged MLG maps with anticipation. Podtacular thankfully agreed. This would have gone a lot worse for us if they hadn’t. Once someone has control of those lifts it is really hard to get passed them. Podtacular took that control at the start end never let go. As hard as TTL tried to break their lines with hard offense it was just not happening. Lift room became grenade traps to whomever stood inside them. At the end Podtacular showed who owned that map, they did.

Game 5: Slayer on the Pit. Podtacular wins 50-36 TTL.
The last game of the event. By now Podtacular had the challenge in their hands, but TTL was not going out quiet. After some failed suggestions from both parties we ended up back at The Pit. The last game was no different from the rest. It was fought and fought hard. TTL did all they could to win, but unfortunately it was not enough. Podtacular kept the lead coming at all times from all directions taking a good lead from the start and keeping it throughout.

You may download the game files in the following file share, slots 16 -20.

The Bonus Griffball game was won by Team TTL-Cannonball by the way, but that one didn’t count.

Thank you Podtacular for making this a real Challenge for us. It was intensely fun. We will have a chance once more, we will ask for a rematch when we recover.
