The TTL Gunslingers met 8 Bit Brigade on the battlefield for the first time on March 30th, 2007. Fighting was fierce. Bullets were flying. Flags were captured. Playing for 8 Bit Brigade were Cappin Mike, Nodak4Ever, Shlugendah, Canis Firebrand, NJAsmodeus, CzarCastic, FightClubJeff, ZX10DOUG, d medic, RampantWook, SameBIG CHIEF, and DontBeAJimmy. Representing the TTL Gunslingers were TTL Ballistic, L askan, TTL Al Capown, Tortacular, TTL zuez patter, Hoovaloov, TTL Cleanbeats, orcishmiscreant, Quantifier, and bs angel. Players on both sides were rotated in and out through all the games.
Game 1 : TTL choice : Multiflag on Containment : 8BB wins 1-0 | Video (WMV)
8 Bit Brigade took our game choice and decided to show us how it was done. The Gunslingers managed to maintain solid map control for the first 14 minutes of the game. Finally they snuck their way over into our base and grabbed our flag once sudden death hit. Not only did they grab our flag but they took it across the entire map for Nodak4ever to get the capture. A much deserved win for 8BB.
Game 2 : 8BB choice : 1 Flag CTF on Relic : TTL wins 1-0 | Video (WMV)
Determined to redeem themselves, the Gunslingers were ready to defend the tower. We kept our defense tight, which was difficult since 8BB are the short-jump masters. We had to keep a strong presence up at the pinnacle to keep them down. Our first round of offense saw our special hog maneuver (led by our Roadkill Captain) go perfectly. Orcishmiscreant made it all the way up to the flag to drop it and inch its way back for the score. Our second offense brought their flag back to our turret but we were unable to get the capture.
Game 3 : TTL choice : Crazy KoTH on Headlong : TTL wins 5:00-2:29
This game was pure chaos, an epic battle to control the power weapons and the vehicles, all the time trying to keep a presence in the constantly moving hill. Snipers on both sides did major damage. The hill was always piled high with bodies. Our warthog proved to be the difference, racking up 15 kills from the gauss turret to secure our victory.
Game 4 : 8BB choice : BaseJumping on Burial Mounds : TTL wins 250-148 | Video (WMV)
Another hard fought game, this time BaseJumping style. The medals in this game are particularly amazing. Both teams had high amounts of sniper kills, double kills, and killing sprees. Quantifier pushed the Gunslingers game to the max, getting a Killimanjaro while CzarCastic led the game in points, getting an awesome 41. Both sides played well, with the Gunslingers pulling away with the win.
Game 5 : Slayer on Waterworks : Everybody wins! | Video (WMV)
Teams were mixed up for this game with 4 8BB fighting alongside 4 Gunslingers on each side. Communication was good. Sniper bullets landed in people’s faces. Vehicles were jacked. A good time was had by all.
The TTL Gunslingers definitely have some new allies on the virtual battlefield. 8 Bit Brigade is not only a highly skilled clan but they uphold excellent sportsmanship and enjoy the game at the same level that the Gunslingers do. The evening went long past the challenge itself as hours of customs ensued afterwards. Thank you for the great evening 8 Bit Brigade. It was truly a pleasure.
