Challenge Recap: Second Foundation

What happens when you mix modified maps, shenanigans, and Second Foundation? Sounds like a wicked Challenge to me, and so it was. Read on about what happened in our most recent “Recreational Challenge.”

A new night, a new fight. That’s right, the Gunslinger’s took some wacky games to the fun filled family of the 2nd Foundation. On Friday January 25th, 2008, we brought the fight to another great community. The game types were sweet, the maps were sweeter.

TTL threw big names such as TTL Bunny, UtopiaUnknown, ScrewChiller, TTL Gunslinger and TTL MB021 into the mix. Whereas 2nd Foundation put people of the likes of Sly Fox 117, Zervon SF, DevilsReject138, Natto, Triggir Hap E, JRod4549, KryptoCleric and SF Jarerod.

Game One: Spikeball on Sandtrap (Spikeball Court variant)

While the game looks like TTL held it close with 2nd Foundation, they had us breathing heavy the whole time. 2nd Foundation whipped up on TTL 6 – 5…

Game Two: Team Fortress CTF on The Pit (variant)

As with any CTF game, TTL knew what to do, but with never playing on the map with the weird spawns and weapon pick-up restraints, we were at a loss. Nonetheless, 2nd Foundation showed us how its done. 2nd Foundation wins 5 – 3…

Game Three: BigGameHunter (props to Le Med community) on Guardian

TTL held the lead through most of the match but the bonus points that 2nd Foundation racked up from assists got the the better of us. 2nd Foundation wins 179 – 148…

Game Four: Multi-Flag CTF on Foundry (Variant)

The map was absolutely nuts. There was one way only to get from one side of the map to the other and with a shotgun waiting on the other side of that portal, there isn’t much you can do. 2nd Foundation wins 1 – 0…

Game Five: Griffball on Foundry (Griffball Court Variant)

Since 2nd Foundation already mopped the floor with TTL’s dead bodies, we decided to switch up the teams and make it a little mixer. We won’t say that one team won or lost here…but one side had 8 scores and the other side only got 1 score.

Fun was to be had by all. The maps and games were weird. The people were chatty. A big thanks goes out to the crew from the 2nd Foundation for their great attitude and play. We will meet again, next time with results in the opposite direction…hopefully.
