At 8:55 on April 20th, the TTL Gunslingers began their final preparations for a night of friendly, competitive gaming. The night would see an informal rematch between TTL and their partners in crime, the PanicAttacks. The first challenge with JungleAnimal, Jobyn and their crews was such a great time, that there was a upswelling of interest in getting together again. Two of the most active, organized and mature clans in Halo 2 would once again square off across the bloody floors of Lockout.
Jungle Animal had a surprise in store for TTL, however. ThePanicAttacks had managed to organize 18 players for the night’s games. Originally, everyones intent was to have a total of three games. In each game, the teams of six would change for each side. We had our rosters ready to go, but… at the last minute, it was proposed that there should be no switching of teams for each game. Jungle Animal proposed that we create three separate rooms, each with 12 players, so that all 18 people from each side could play all three gametypes. A great idea! instead of 3 games to write about, we now would have 9!
Clan Challenge Room #1
TTL Gunslingers: xNO WARNINGx, Cleanbeats, Pink Tawko, Saej, El Burritoh, and Decepticahn.
ThePanicAttacks: XBuffyX, Cannabisaurus, The Phatdad, shaDowkillr1, HeadShot Hat and BlazingBread.
Results: Complete and utter pwnage by ThePanicAttacks, according to one of our victims, El Burritoh: “You want to know how we did? Do ya, do ya, do ya? We go pwned. I would try and find interesting reasons like the recently mentioned leadership thing, or cite lack of practice. But the truth is they hadn’t given much thought to it either. They just whooped us. Maybe they’re used to playing together more. I dunno.”
Game 1: Lowball on Lockout
Score: ThePanicAttacks – 03:54 (0.55, 0.44, 0.44, 0.31, 0.30 and 0.30)
TTL Gunslingers – 01:23 (0.32, 0.23, 0.14, 0.07, 0.06 and 0.01)
Notes from CleanBeats: “We started things fairly well in the Lowball match. We had control of the ball and held up well at top BR. But once they got the ball that was pretty much it. The Panic Attacks had a strong hold behind sniper spawn. They were unbreakable with protection of that skull. Kudos to them for a very well played game..”
Game 2: CTF Classic on Relic
Score: ThePanicAttacks – 3
TTL Gunslingers – 1
Notes from Cleanbeats: “Then came CTF on Relic. A game full of frustration. A confusing start for a team that has never really played together. Amidst the shopping and betraying we were caught off guard and they got the flag. No one was in position to defend so round one goes to Panic Attacks. After that first round we tightened up D and coordinated more offense but still lost this one 3 to 1.”
Game 3: Slayer on Burial Mounds
Score: ThePanicAttacks – 100
TTL Gunslingers – 89
Notes from Cleanbeats: “Slayer on Burial Mounds could have gone either way. It was close all the way and they edged us out by 11 kills. ”
