On Friday, July 13, 2007 The Tied The Leader Gunslingers had their Rematch Challenge against the 8 Bit Brigade. A challenge very much anticipated by both Clans. 8BB is a great group of people that can teach each and every one of us a thing or two about having fun in the game and in Matchmaking. Four rounds should be played on a 6v6 lead bursting effort for the win.
Representing the very best of them were: Team 1: NJAsmodeus, Canis Firebrand, Speedkills1, Shlugendah, Monkeyspit99, ZX10DOUG, and Team 2 : NodaK4Ever, DontBeaJimmy, GeneralFault, Cappin Mike, Primal Urges and Brikenjon.
For The TTL Gunslingers Team two: TTL Tortacular, TTL Locke, TTL zeuz patter, Tornado I, Kyli3 and TTL Gunslinger.
Game one. CTF on Relic, TTL 2 vs. 8BB2.
This was 8BB choice and the main focus of the 8BB rematch. They wanted to win this one more than anything. Unfortunately for them TTL was prepared to show some surprises and didn’t use the same game strategies as before. TTL managed to get the flag off the base and finally to make the capture twice. 8BB hat a real tough defense, but TTL managed to break thru for the win. Some connection issues managed to make a member of 8BB change teams after an eternal blue screen creating a little more confusion in his mind. TTL 2 - 8BB 0.
Game two. Neutral Snipers on Relic, TTL 2 vs. 8BB 2
TTL choice, a strange game type with many different possible outcomes. It was all or nothing and TTL needed to prove they had nothing to fear. On a race under constant fire from above the pace was fast, run, die, re-spawn repeat. 8BB snipers were out gunned by kyli3 who proved why he wears the sage in TTL and by Tornado I , in his first challenge as a carrier of the TTL name demonstrated why he`s game play is treasured by his new family. TTL managed to score the flag on all 4 rounds.
Game three. KoTH BR-Shotty on Terminal. TTL 2 vs 8BB 1.
8BB choice. This was going to be a hardcore game, with Br starts, no snipers on map and no vehicles everybody was forced to go inside the hill. A real blood bath was had in the hill and its surroundings. At first 8BB had the lead, but after TTL managed to break the other teams spawn points and have control of the map things changed. TTL Locke managed an 30+ kill count which notoriously helped the odds on that control.
TTL 4:00 - 8BB 2:20
Game four, Lowhill on Tombstone. TTL 2 vs. 8BB1
This was a game hardly remembered by TTL since 8BB had a winner in the past challenge and was determined to keep it that way. Tombstone is a dificcult map to fight on, with the high ground control being a must as well as a good spread across the map for those moving hills, there is no easy way to control. 8BB had the lead again for the first half of the game. They had two members with their full one minute times and TTL ha none. Fortunately that changed soon and we managed to regain control. This was the closest game of the night and the most fought as well. TTL managed to win this game by only a 21 second difference. TTL 5:37 - 8BB 5:16
Overall all games were tougher and closer than what the final result might show. 8BB brought a really “Good and Fun Game ” to TTL and we say Thank ya. They showed why they are one of many favorites amongst us and the love and respect for this game, and its communities. We hope to see them again in H3 and in MM in the mean time.
